Sukhwinder Singh is an internationally renowned Indian vocalist who frequently performs as a Bollywood playback artist. Singh is well known for singing "Chaiyya Chaiyya," for which he received the 1999 Filmfare Award for Best Male Playback. A.R. Rahman composed "Chaiyya Chaiyya," the first song from Mani Ratnam's 1998 film Dil Se, which was written by Gulzar and sung in duet with Sapna Awasthi.
Singh had his acting debut in the film "Karma," in which he sang a few lines, and then in the Madhuri Dixit film Khilaaf, in which he sang the famous song "Aa ja Sanam."
